“Texas-born country singer-songwriter Charley Crockett has announced the cancellation of his Canadian tour dates, which had been due to kick off in Vancouver over the weekend. In a statement shared to Instagram, he revealed that he had had two failed border crossing attempts over the course of 24 hours due to a 2014 felony conviction for marijuana possession.
“Everybody’s got a past. Mine’s still haunting me,” Crockett wrote on Instagram today. “I tried to cross the Canadian border twice in 24 hours. After they denied me entry in Vancouver, I tried again in Kelowna and was rejected a second time. I’ve been advised that it would jeopardize my freedom to try and enter again. I’m deeply sorry to announce the cancellation of my entire Canadian tour.””
